Alibaba Cloud DevOps:Requirement status transitions

Last Updated:Jun 24, 2026

This article describes how to configure requirement status transitions, including the definitions and conditions for each status.

A requirement's status changes as it progresses. In Projex, this status can transition in the following ways.

Manual transition

To perform a manual transition, a user must have permission to change the requirement's status. For more information, see Project Permission Description. The requirement's workflow configuration determines the next available statuses.

On the requirement details page, in the basic fields panel on the right, click the Status field and select a target status from the dropdown menu. The available statuses include To Do, In Design, In Development, In Testing, Done, and Closed.

Automatic transition

Projex lets you configure automatic requirement status transitions. Triggered by a specific action, this transition helps standardize your workflow and improve efficiency. For more details, see Automation rules.

For example, when a requirement is assigned to an iteration, its status automatically changes to In Development.

In the Add Automation Rule dialog box, set the trigger object to Product Requirement and the execution account to Automation Rule. Click Add to Rule List.
