Alibaba Cloud DevOps:Accounts and logon

Last Updated:Jun 02, 2026

Log on to Alibaba Cloud DevOps using the root account or an identity provider (IdP), and manage session validity and logoff.

Logon with the root account

After purchasing Alibaba Cloud DevOps, you receive an organization instance and a root account. Use this account to complete initial setup.

  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud DevOps console with your Alibaba Cloud account or as a RAM administrator. Go to the Instances page and click the name of your organization.

  2. Click Go to instance in the upper-right corner. Alternatively, click the Security settings tab and click Access now in the Root account management section.

  3. On the organization logon page, enter the root account credentials.

  4. Click Sign in to complete the logon.

Note
  • You set the initial root account password when you purchase Alibaba Cloud DevOps. You can change it later in the console using your Alibaba Cloud account or as a RAM administrator.

  • The root account is the organization owner with super administrator permissions. Use it only for initial configuration, then disable it in the Root account management section of the Security settings tab. A disabled root account cannot log on but can be re-enabled at any time.

Logon through other identity providers

Alibaba Cloud DevOps integrates with multiple identity providers (IdPs), including Alibaba Cloud and SAML IdPs. Once configured, users can log on using single sign-on (SSO). For more information, see Identity provider management.

Session validity

Sessions expire after 24 hours. Users are automatically logged off when a session expires.

Account logoff

To log off, click your profile picture in the upper-right corner and select Log out.
