Alibaba Cloud DevOps now supports creating organizations in the Singapore. This update also enables development workflows, including coding, building, and deploying, to run within an enterprise's Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), meeting stringent security requirements. The billing model for new organizations will also change.

Alibaba Cloud DevOps version changes
Alibaba Cloud DevOps now supports creating organizations in the Singapore. These organizations have a region attribute, distinguishing them from organizations created under the original global version. Region-based organizations offer a choice between Personal Mode and Enterprise Collaboration mode, to better support both startup teams and enterprise-level R&D teams.
Creation of new organizations under the original global version will no longer be supported. Existing organizations created under the global version can continue to be used as before, with billing methods remaining unchanged. If you wish to upgrade your organization to the region version, please submit a support ticket, and we will assist you with the upgrade process.
Personal Mode vs. Enterprise Collaboration Mode
When creating a region-based organization, you must select a usage mode. You can switch modes later.

You can enable Enterprise Collaboration Mode on the organization details page in the console. Once enabled, enterprise-level features are activated, and billing for user licenses begins simultaneously. We bill user licenses once per day based on the total number of active users. The fee adjusts automatically as users are added or removed, eliminating the need to upgrade or downgrade subscriptions.
Virtual private cloud (VPC) access support
While global version organizations only support public access, the region-based version supports accessing Alibaba Cloud DevOps from within an enterprise's VPC. You can also disable public access to secure your R&D assets.
The region-based version provides private network domain names, ensuring that code clone URLs and artifact repository URLs are only accessible within the VPC. To use pipeline build clusters, you must associate them with a VPC, ensuring that all build and deployment processes occur within the enterprise's private network.
More convenient integration with Alibaba Cloud products
The region-based version lets you easily authorize and access the following Alibaba Cloud products by configuring service connection:
Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK)
Container Registry (ACR)
Elastic Compute Service (ECS)
Object Storage Service (OSS)
Serverless App Engine (SAE)
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
Once configured, you can use these service connections in your pipelines to perform read, write, and deployment operations on your Alibaba Cloud resources. For details, see Service connection management.
Upgrade your organization to a region-based version
To use the following new features, we recommend upgrading your organization to a region-based version:
Enterprise Collaboration Mode
VPC access
Personal Mode (to enjoy 5 free user licenses)
To upgrade, submit a ticket online, and our technical team will assist you.
Potential impacts of the upgrade:
The upgrade will not affect data in your code repositories.
Since the region-based version distinguishes between Personal Mode and Enterprise Collaboration Mode, your account management and login methods may change. You may need to reconfigure your account settings after the upgrade.
Action Required: After the upgrade, all pipelines will temporarily fail. To restore functionality, you must associate the pipeline build clusters in the region-based version with a VPC.
Adjustments to free tier for R&D resources
Region-based organizations will continue to receive the following free quota for R&D resources:

The free quota for region-based organizations is shared across all organizations under a single Alibaba Cloud account (UID).

The fees for Code Git Storage, Code LFS Storage, and Artifact Repository Storage are settled daily. Due to the varying number of days in a month, actual charges are detailed in your billing statement.
