WUYING Workspace:Specify a CIDR block on which a policy takes effect

Last Updated:Apr 30, 2024

If you want to associate different policies with cloud computers when the cloud computers are connected over different networks, you can specify CIDR blocks on which the policies take effect. This topic describes how to specify the CIDR block on which a policy takes effect.

Background

After you specify a CIDR block for a policy and associate the policy with a cloud computer, the system checks whether the egress IP address of the device that an end user uses to connect to the cloud computer belongs to the CIDR block. Then, the system enables the corresponding policy for the cloud computer during the following usage.

Usage notes

  • You can specify a CIDR block for only custom policies. You cannot specify a CIDR block for a system policy.

  • After you specify a CIDR block for a policy and associate the policy with a cloud computer, the policy takes effect the next time the cloud computer is connected.

  • Each cloud computer must be associated with exactly one policy that takes effect on all IP addresses. A cloud computer can be associated with up to four policies that take effect on specific CIDR blocks.

Prerequisites

  • A custom policy is created. You can specify a CIDR block for the custom policy regardless of whether the policy is associated with a cloud computer. For an associated policy that has a specified CIDR block, you can directly change the CIDR block.

  • (Optional) A custom policy that takes effect on all IP addresses is disassociated from cloud computers. If you do not want to disassociate the policy, you can clone the policy to create a new policy that has the same configurations, specify a CIDR block for the new policy, and then associate the new policy with the cloud computers. For more information about how to clone a custom policy, see Modify, clone, or delete a custom policy.
