WUYING Terminal:Configure and use a client

After you log on to a WUYING client (that is, Alibaba Cloud Workspace client), you can configure the client and perform operations on the client based on your business requirements. This topic describes how to configure and use a Windows client or a macOS client of Alibaba Cloud Workspace.

Configure a client

The features and use methods are slightly different between a Windows client and a macOS client. The actual features that are provided on your WUYING client shall prevail. In the following section, a Windows client of Alibaba Cloud Workspace V6.4.0 is used as an example to describe the common configurations of a client.

Configuration

Description

Language

Windows clients and macOS clients support the following languages: Simplified Chinese and English.

  • On the client logon page, choose More > Settings. On the Settings page, choose General > Language.

  • In the upper-right corner of the card page of WUYING cloud services, click the p554245..png icon and then click Settings. On the Settings page, choose General > Language and select a language that you prefer.

Network proxy

  • On the client logon page, choose More > Settings. On the Settings page, choose Network > Proxy, enable a proxy, and then complete the proxy settings as prompted.

  • In the upper-right corner of the card page of WUYING cloud services, click the p554245..png icon and then click Settings. On the Settings page, choose Network > Proxy, enable a proxy, and then complete the proxy settings as prompted.

Note

You can configure an HTTP or a SOCKS proxy.

Use a client

The supported features and use methods are slightly different between a Windows client and a macOS client. The actual features provided on your WUYING client shall prevail. In the following section, a Windows client of Alibaba Cloud Workspace V6.4.0 is used as an example to describe how to use a client.

Feature

Description

Logon password change

  • You can change the password on the client only if you use a convenience account. Enterprise AD accounts are managed by the AD system of an enterprise. If you use an enterprise AD account and you want to change the password, contact your administrator. Take note that this does not apply to the first logon or when the password expires.

  • You can reset the password on the logon page or change the password in the Account Summary section of the account information page. If you forget the password, you can click Forgot password on the logon page to reset the password.

To change the password, perform the following operations:

  1. In the upper-right corner of the WUYING cloud service card page, click the p554245..png icon and then click the account.

  2. In the Account Summary section, click Change to the right of Password.

  3. Enter the current password and a new password, and click Confirm Submit.

    Note
    • The password must be at least 10 characters in length and contain at least three of the following character types: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and special characters. The new password cannot be the same as the current password.

    • When you confirm the new password, re-enter the password. We recommend that you do not copy and paste the password.

Network detection and diagnostics

  • On the client logon page, choose More > Settings. On the Settings page, choose Network > Basic Diagnosis and click Diagnose.

  • In the upper-right corner of the card page of WUYING cloud services, click the p554245..png icon and then click Settings. On the Settings page, choose Network > Basic Diagnosis and click Diagnose.

Remote command

  • On the client logon page, choose More > Settings and choose Network > Advanced Tool. Enter a command and then send the command based on your business requirements.

  • In the upper-right corner of the card page of WUYING cloud services, click the p554245..png icon and then click Settings. On the Settings page, choose Network > Advanced Tool, enter a command as prompted, and then send the command.

Note

You can run only the telnet or ping command to remotely connect to your cloud computer or check network connectivity.

Peripheral management

After a USB peripheral, such as an audio or video device, storage device, or printer, is connected to your local computer that runs the client, you can view the peripheral information on the client. The information includes the name, vendor ID (VID), and product ID (PID). You can also add peripherals to the blacklist or whitelist for USB redirection.

  • Blacklist: does not allow peripherals in the blacklist to connect to cloud computers when the USB redirection mode is enabled. If the peripherals support the device redirection mode, the peripherals can connect to the cloud computers when the device redirection mode is enabled. If the peripherals do not support the device redirection mode, the device is cannot connect to the cloud computers.

  • Whitelist: allows peripherals in the whitelist to connect to cloud computers when the USB redirection mode is enabled.

To manage local peripherals, perform the following operations: In the upper-right corner of the card page of WUYING cloud services, click the p554245..png icon and then Settings. On the Settings page, click Peripherals. On the Local Peripherals tab, configure the blacklist or whitelist for USB redirection based on your business requirements.

Client information view and client update

Check the version number and description of the client that you use, and check whether a new version of the client is available for update.

  • On the client logon page, choose More > About to view the version number of the client. If View New Version is displayed, you can click View New Version and follow the on-screen instructions to update the client. If The version is up to date message appears, no update is required.

  • In the upper-right corner of the card page of WUYING cloud services, click the p554245..png icon and then About to view the client version. If View New Version is displayed, you can click View New Version and follow the on-screen instructions to update the client. If The version is up to date message is displayed, no update is required.

Account view

In the upper-right corner of the card page of WUYING cloud services, click the p554245..png icon and click the account to view the account information.

Message view

In the upper-right corner of the card display page of WUYING cloud services, click the 消息、通知..png icon to view all messages that are related to the current account. The messages in the message center include the following types:

  • Management messages: When your administrator performs operations on WUYING cloud services of your account, the system sends management messages. For example, you receive messages if your administrator configures scheduled tasks, authorizes you to use cloud services, changes policies, changes resource specifications, assigns or reclaims resources, or sends resource expiration reminders. In addition, you receive messages when tasks in cloud services are started and executed.

  • System messages: System messages related to image updates, update execution, and execution results are displayed.

  • Collaboration messages: Reminders of collaboration results when the current account initiates or receives remote assistance requests are displayed.

You can click the Dingtalk_20230518162706..jpeg icon to delete multiple messages at a time.

Client logout

  • In the upper-right corner of the card page of WUYING cloud services, click the 退出..png icon.

  • In the upper-right corner of the card page of WUYING cloud services, click the p554245..png icon. Then, click Sign Out.

Service feedback

If you have any suggestions when you use WUYING cloud services, you can submit feedback by performing the following steps: In the upper-right corner of the card page of WUYING cloud services, click the p554245..png icon and then click Feedback. On the page that appears, enter your suggestions and click Submit.
