WUYING Terminal:Install drivers for peripherals

Last Updated:May 30, 2025

After a cloud computer connects to a peripheral, you cannot use the peripheral on the cloud computer immediately. You must first install the appropriate driver. Several driver installation methods are available.

Windows client/macOS client

When you use a cloud computer from the Windows client or macOS client, you can use one of the following methods to install drivers for peripherals.

Automatically scan and install drivers

When your cloud computer connects to a peripheral for the first time, the system automatically detects the driver. If the driver library contains the driver, the Install Driver dialog box appears. You can select Install Now.

If you want the system to automatically scan and install drivers, the following conditions must be met:

  • Cloud computer image: The operating system is Windows and the image version is V2.5.0 or later.

  • Alibaba Cloud Workspace client:

    • Windows client: The version is V7.6 or later.

    • macOS client: The version is V7.6 or later.

Use Cloud Computer Manager to install drivers

Cloud Computer Manager is a built-in software in the cloud computer that provides rich cloud computer management capabilities.

  1. You can start Cloud Computer Manager using one of the following methods:

    • On the desktop of the cloud computer, double-click the Cloud Computer Manager icon.

    • On the desktop of the cloud computer, click DesktopAssistant and click Cloud Computer Manager.

  2. On the homepage of Cloud Computer Manager, click External Device Service.

  3. On the Peripherals page, find the peripheral with the status Driver Missing and click Fix.

    • If the driver for the peripheral is detected in the Alibaba Cloud Workspace driver library, click Download and install driver in the dialog box. After the installation is complete, click Close.

    • If the Alibaba Cloud Workspace driver library does not have the driver for the peripheral but the system detects that the driver is installed on your on-premises device, click Upload and install driver in the dialog box. After the installation is complete, click Close.

    • If neither the Alibaba Cloud Workspace driver library nor your on-premises device has the driver for the peripheral, visit the official website of the peripheral brand on the cloud computer and download and install the corresponding driver.

If the peripheral status is Connected, the driver is successfully installed and the peripheral can be used as expected.

Migrate existing drivers from on-premises devices and install the drivers

If the drivers have been installed on the on-premises device running the Alibaba Cloud Workspace client, you can migrate the drivers directly to the cloud computer to facilitate the installation of peripheral drivers on the cloud computer. The migrated drivers are uploaded to the driver library of your organization and shared with other cloud computers in the organization.

Prerequisites
  • Cloud computer image: The operating system is Windows and the image version is V2.6.0 or later.

  • Alibaba Cloud Workspace client:

    • Only Windows client (version V7.7 or later) is supported.

    • You have sufficient permissions (permissions to read the driver directory on the C drive) to access, package, and migrate the drivers.

  • Cloud computer policy: Disk redirection is enabled in the policy. If it is not enabled, contact your IT administrator. For more information, see Configurations.

  • Storage space on the on-premises device: The available storage space is at least 500 MB.

  • Network: The connection is stable to transfer driver files from the backup location.

Note

Before you migrate drivers, we recommend that you verify the availability of the drivers for the peripherals on the on-premises device.

Procedure
  1. You can start Cloud Computer Manager using one of the following methods:

    • On the desktop of the cloud computer, double-click the Cloud Computer Manager icon.

    • On the desktop of the cloud computer, click the floating ball and click Cloud Computer Manager.

  2. On the homepage of Cloud Computer Manager, click External Device Service.

  3. On the Peripherals page, click Driver Migration.

  4. On the Driver Migration page, select the type of peripheral, select I have read and agree to the [Driver Migration Privacy Agreement], and then click Scan.

  5. On the Install Drivers page, select a found driver, select the agreement at the bottom, and click Install.

If you want to migrate multiple drivers, repeat this step.

Manually install drivers

If none of the preceding methods are available, you can visit the official website of the peripheral brands on the cloud computer and download and install the official drivers.

What to do next

After the drivers are successfully installed, restart the cloud computer. After the restart, reconnect the cloud computer to the peripherals and use the peripherals.
