Web Application Firewall:View bills

Last Updated:Aug 05, 2026

After you activate Web Application Firewall (WAF) 3.0, you can view the actual usage and fees of pay-as-you-go instances and subscription instances on the WAF Billing Management page, and view deduction bills in Expenses and Costs. This topic describes how to view daily bills and billing details for WAF 3.0.

Before you begin

You have an active Pay-as-you-go WAF 3.0 service.

View daily bills

The WAF console generates daily bills based on your actual usage. You can view actual billing details in Expenses and Costs. For more information, see View billing details.

Pay-as-you-go instances

For pay-as-you-go instances, WAF calculates the hourly Traffic Processing Fee and Feature Fee based on the volume of business requests processed and the protection features you have enabled within each complete hour, generates hourly bills, and generates daily bills for each billing cycle. All fees are uniformly measured and billed in SeCUs (Security Capacity Units), and you can switch the measurement unit to: USD.

Important
  • Daily bills for pay-as-you-go instances do not include fees for the WAF log service. These fees are uniformly metered and billed by Simple Log Service (SLS). For information about how to query log service bills, see Query bills.

  • If you enable WAF protection for ALB instances, in addition to the fees charged by WAF, ALB and other services also charge related fees. For information about how to query ALB bills, see Query bills and consumption details.

  • Fees for the new version of Agentic API Security are billed in Credit units and displayed on this page. If you are using the old version of API Security, the service is still metered in SeCU units. For more information, see WAF API Security module upgrade.

  • For more information about billing details for pay-as-you-go instances, see Billing.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Web Application Firewall 3.0 console. From the top menu bar, select the resource group and region (Chinese Mainland or Outside Chinese Mainland) for the WAF instance.

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Bill Management.

  3. On the Bill Management page, view the bill details.

    • Estimated bill for today

Displays the estimated fees from 00:00:00 of the current day to the end of the last complete hour before the current time. For example, if the current time is 17:07:02, the end time is 16:59:59.

      Note

This is an estimated bill generated by WAF. The final bill for the day is subject to the actual bill generated on T+1.

    • View bill details

Click View Billing Details to view the traffic processing fees and the fees generated by the enabled features from 00:00:00 of the current day to the end of the last complete hour before the current time. A green billing status indicates that the feature has incurred fees, and a gray status indicates that no fees have been incurred.

    • Bills

Click View Details in the Actions column to view the Total Cost, Hourly Bill, and Details of Hourly Bill of a daily bill.

      • Total bill: includes Traffic Processing Fee and Feature Fee.

      • Hourly bill details: the fee details for each complete hour.

      • Hourly Expense Details: Details of expenses incurred during the specified hour for Traffic Processing Fee, Feature Fee, and Credit Usage Details (if the new version of API Security is enabled).

You can view the fee breakdown for a specific complete hour. By default, the sum for all 24 hours is displayed.

Subscription instances

When you purchase a subscription instance, Expenses and Costs charges the instance fee as a one-time payment.

  • During daily use, if you upgrade the instance, purchase value-added services, upgrade value-added service specifications, or renew the subscription, Expenses and Costs also charges the related fees as a one-time payment. In this scenario, WAF does not generate daily bills. For more information, see Upgrades and downgrades and Renewals.

  • When the actual peak QPS of your business exceeds the purchased specifications, because the subscription version of WAF enables the burstable pay-as-you-go QPS feature by default, the system settles the fees for excess QPS on a daily basis and generates daily bills. For more information, see Burstable QPS billing.

View billing details

  2. In the top navigation bar, choose Expenses.

    • If you have purchased a SeCU resource plan to offset pay-as-you-go instance fees, you can view the usage details of the resource plan on the Resource Plans page. For more information, see Manage SeCU resource plans.

    • Web Application Firewall does not support viewing billing details by protected object.
