You can use Alibaba Cloud's Cloud Monitor to view the monitoring data of a VPN gateway instance. You can also create threshold-triggered alert rules to monitor the traffic of the VPN gateway instance. This ensures that you are promptly notified when traffic becomes abnormal.
View the monitoring data of a VPN gateway instance
- Log on to the VPN gateway console.
In the top menu bar, select the region of the VPN gateway.
On the VPN Gateways page, click the ID of the target VPN gateway instance.
On the details page of the VPN gateway instance, click the Monitor tab to view the monitoring data of the instance.
By default, monitoring data for the last hour is displayed. You can change the time range to the last 3, 6, or 12 hours, or specify a custom time range.
The system supports auto-refresh for monitoring data.
You can turn on Auto-refresh above the line chart of a metric. When this feature is enabled, the system automatically refreshes the data every minute to display the latest monitoring data.
Metric
Description
Inbound Packet Rate of VPN Gateway
The rate at which the VPN gateway instance receives packets. Unit: packets/s.
Outbound Packet Rate of VPN Gateway
The rate at which the VPN gateway instance sends packets. Unit: packets/s.
Inbound Traffic Rate of VPN Gateway
The rate at which the VPN gateway instance receives traffic. Unit: bit/s.
Outbound Traffic Rate of VPN Gateway
The rate at which the VPN gateway instance sends traffic. Unit: bit/s.
Number of SSL Clients
The number of clients that are connected to the VPN gateway instance through SSL-VPN. Unit: count.
Inbound Bandwidth Usage of VPN Gateway
The percentage of bandwidth that is used for inbound traffic.
Outbound Bandwidth Usage of VPN Gateway
The percentage of bandwidth that is used for outbound traffic.
Create a threshold-triggered alert rule for a VPN gateway instance
You can create a threshold-triggered alert rule for your VPN gateway instance. If a metric exceeds the specified threshold, the system sends an alert notification. This helps you promptly resolve issues.
Log on to the Cloud Monitor console.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose .
On the Alert Rules page, click Create Alert Rule.
In the Create Alert Rule panel, set Product to vpngw, configure the parameters as needed, and then click OK.
This topic describes only the relevant parameters. For more information about other parameters, see Create an alert rule.
In the Rule Description section, click . In the Configure Rule Description panel, configure the following parameters, and then click OK.
