Activates a router interface that is in the Inactive state.

Operation description

After you call the ActivateRouterInterface operation, the router interface enters the Activating state. After the router interface is activated, it enters the Active state.

Before you call this operation, the router interface must be in the Inactive state. A newly created router interface is in the Idle state. In non-express connect mode, you can call CreateRouterInterface to create both ends of the connection, call ModifyRouterInterfaceAttribute to configure the peer information, and then call ConnectRouterInterface to establish the connection. When the router interface is in the Active state, you can call DeactivateRouterInterface to change it to the Inactive state, and then call this operation to reactivate it. You can call DescribeRouterInterfaceAttribute to query the current state.

Note

You cannot activate a router interface that has an overdue payment.

RAM authorization

The table below describes the authorization required to call this API. You can define it in a Resource Access Management (RAM) policy. The table's columns are detailed below:

  • Action: The actions can be used in the Action element of RAM permission policy statements to grant permissions to perform the operation.

  • API: The API that you can call to perform the action.

  • Access level: The predefined level of access granted for each API. Valid values: create, list, get, update, and delete.

  • Resource type: The type of the resource that supports authorization to perform the action. It indicates if the action supports resource-level permission. The specified resource must be compatible with the action. Otherwise, the policy will be ineffective.

    • For APIs with resource-level permissions, required resource types are marked with an asterisk (*). Specify the corresponding Alibaba Cloud Resource Name (ARN) in the Resource element of the policy.

    • For APIs without resource-level permissions, it is shown as All Resources. Use an asterisk (*) in the Resource element of the policy.

  • Condition key: The condition keys defined by the service. The key allows for granular control, applying to either actions alone or actions associated with specific resources. In addition to service-specific condition keys, Alibaba Cloud provides a set of common condition keys applicable across all RAM-supported services.

  • Dependent action: The dependent actions required to run the action. To complete the action, the RAM user or the RAM role must have the permissions to perform all dependent actions.

Note

The ID of the router interface. This operation supports only router interfaces in the Inactive state. If the state does not match, the IncorrectRIStatus error is returned. Newly created router interfaces are not in the Inactive state and cannot be directly activated. Router interfaces created in express connect mode are automatically connected and in the Active state. You must first call DeactivateRouterInterface to change them to the Inactive state. Router interfaces created in non-express connect mode are in the Idle state. You must first configure the peer information and call ConnectRouterInterface to establish the connection to the Active state, and then call DeactivateRouterInterface. State transition: Active --DeactivateRouterInterface--> Inactive --ActivateRouterInterface--> Active. If the router interface is in a transitional state such as Connecting, Activating, or Deactivating, poll DescribeRouterInterfaceAttribute until the state stabilizes.
