ApsaraVideo VOD:Upload files by using the Windows client

Last Updated:May 25, 2025

If you use the Windows operating system and need to upload multiple large files in batches, we recommend using the Windows client tool.

Limits

  • You can upload a media file of up to 48.8 TB in size.

  • The upload records of the Windows client are stored in the %appdata%/AliVodClient folder. The client displays up to 500 recent upload records. If you upgrade the client version or clear the folder, the upload records might not display.

Procedure

Step 1: Create a RAM user and an AccessKey pair

  • A RAM user is created.

For more information about how to create a RAM user, see Create a RAM user.

  • The RAM user is granted permissions to access ApsaraVideo VOD.

For more information about how to grant permissions to a RAM user, see Grant permissions to a RAM user.

  • Obtain an AccessKey pair to complete identity verification so that you can log on to the client. For more information, see Create an AccessKey.

  • The VOD bucket in the desired region is enabled. If the VOD bucket is not enabled before you use the client tool to upload media files, the upload fails. For more information, see Manage storage buckets.

Note

We recommend that you use the AccessKey ID and AccessKey secret of the RAM user to log on to the client. This helps isolate permissions and reduce the risk of configuration errors in the console.

Step 2: Use the client

  1. Download and install the client for your operating system.

    Operating system

    Windows

    App Version

    Windows-V2.0.1

    Important

If the system prompts that MSVCP140.dll or VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing when you open the Windows client, download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 runtime library.

  2. Use the AccessKey ID and AccessKey secret of the RAM user to log on to the client.

  3. In the top menu bar of the client, click Add Upload File to add the audio or video files that you want to upload.

  4. Select the audio or video files that you want to upload.

  5. Click Start Upload.
