Context

After years of industry development, short videos have become a new popular medium for content dissemination in addition to text and images. Short videos apply to various scenarios such as entertainment, social contact, e-commerce, and early childhood education. Mobile users have a strong demand for short videos.

Process

The following figure shows the basic process.

Step	Operation	Description
1	Activate and configure ApsaraVideo VOD	Before you build the short video AppServer, you must activate and configure ApsaraVideo VOD.
2	Activate and configure Elastic Compute Service (ECS)	We recommend that you build your short video service on ECS instances. In this case, you must activate and configure ECS after you activate and configure ApsaraVideo VOD.
3	Build the short video AppServer	After you activate and configure ApsaraVideo VOD and ECS, you must build the short video AppServer.
4	Build the short video console	After you build the short video AppServer, you must build the short video console.
5	Build the short video client for Android Build the short video client for iOS	Build the short video clients for Android and iOS so that users can use the clients to access your short video service.
