ApsaraVideo Player SDK is billed by edition and selected value-added modules.

Important

Starting February 14, 2025, ApsaraVideo Player SDK for mobile clients (version 7.0.0 and later) offers a Professional Edition in addition to the Standard Edition. To obtain the Professional Edition, contact our sales team. After obtaining it, see Integrate a Player License for authorization instructions.
If your spending on ApsaraVideo VOD, ApsaraVideo Live, or Intelligent Media Services (IMS) reaches a specific threshold, you can receive a complimentary one-year license for ApsaraVideo Player SDK Professional Edition. Spend-and-Get promotion.
A new license for the ApsaraVideo Player SDK Professional Edition for mobile clients supports only version 7.0.0 and later. Before obtaining the license, verify the SDK version integrated into your application.

Editing and production billing

The ApsaraVideo VOD cloud editing service is billed in two tiers: basic editing and advanced editing. It supports editing for audio, video, images, and text.

Charges are based on the output file's specifications and duration, and rates vary by region.

Billing example for editing and production: Suppose you perform video editing in the Chinese mainland between 08:00 and 09:00 on a given day. You perform a basic edit that produces a 100-minute H.264 output in LD (640 × 480) resolution. The resulting fee is 100 minutes × USD 0.0033/minute. You also perform an advanced edit that produces a 100-minute H.264 output in 2K (2560 × 1440) resolution. The resulting fee is 100 minutes × USD 0.0959/minute. The total editing fee for this period is: (100 minutes × USD 0.0033/minute) + (100 minutes × USD 0.0959/minute) = USD 9.92.

Billing for transfer acceleration

ApsaraVideo VOD provides cross-region transfer acceleration (upload and download). You are charged based on the acceleration traffic generated in each region.

Note

Transfer acceleration fees are charged in addition to standard outbound traffic (oss_flow_out) fees. For example, if you download 1 GB of data from a bucket with transfer acceleration enabled by using an acceleration endpoint, you are charged for 1 GB of download acceleration traffic and 1 GB of outbound traffic.
Transfer acceleration fees in ApsaraVideo VOD apply only to uploads to and downloads from the ApsaraVideo VOD system bucket. If you also enable transfer acceleration for your own Object Storage Service (OSS) bucket integrated with ApsaraVideo VOD, OSS charges the related transfer acceleration fees on your OSS bill.

Billing example: If you use upload acceleration between 08:00 and 09:00 on a given day to transfer 900 GB of content from the Chinese mainland to a region outside the Chinese mainland, the resulting traffic fee is: 900 GB × USD 0.20/GB = USD 180.

Video security

DRM billing

ApsaraVideo VOD provides DRM encryption to protect your video content. The encryption process is part of the transcoding workflow. While you are charged for transcoding, the DRM encryption fee is incurred only when a client device requests a license to play the encrypted video. You are charged for each license acquisition request.
