Troubleshooting TIN validation errors
If you encounter a validation error when filling in your Malaysia Tax Identification Number (TIN), follow these troubleshooting steps:
Check the TIN format
-
Last digit: After the Malaysia tax reform effective January 1, 2023, the last digit of TIN should be 0. If your TIN does not end with 0, check the latest TIN on the Malaysia Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) official website.
-
Enterprise user prefix: Enterprise TINs should start with the letter C or D. If your TIN does not start with C or D, confirm that you are using the correct enterprise tax identification number.
Check the BRN entry order
The system validates TIN against the Business Registration Number (BRN). Make sure that:
-
You have successfully entered the BRN on the Basic Information page (see Step 1 above).
-
After entering the BRN, wait a few minutes before filling in the TIN. If you fill in the TIN immediately after modifying the BRN, the BRN information may not have synced to the system database, causing TIN validation to fail. Wait briefly and try again.
Individual users without a TIN
Individual users who do not yet have a Malaysia Tax Identification Number (such as students) can enter EI00000000010 as a temporary placeholder in the TIN field.

We can only issue an invoice to you upon receipt of all information stated in Step 1 and Step 2. Failure to provide any of the information above will affect your ability to receive a valid e-invoice for tax deduction purpose.

Invoice issuance deadline
Under Malaysia tax compliance requirements, e-invoices must be issued within a specified time limit. If tax information is not completed before the deadline, invoices for the corresponding billing period cannot be issued.
The invoice issuance deadline for each billing period is the last day of the month following the end of the billing period. For example:
|
Billing period |
Invoice issuance deadline |
|---|---|
|
February 2025 |
March 31, 2025 |
|
March 2025 |
April 30, 2025 |
|
April 2025 |
May 31, 2025 |
After the deadline, invoices for that billing period can no longer be issued. Complete your tax information promptly to ensure invoices are generated on time.
