    Expenses and Costs:Financial trusteeship - End user

    Financial trusteeship is a feature of Alibaba Cloud Corporate Finance that lets a main account assume billing responsibility for its linked accounts.

    Set up a trusteeship relationship by inviting linked accounts in the Billing Management console, or by configuring delegated payment when you create resource accounts in Resource Directory.

    Eligible users

    Financial trusteeship is available only to end users. Distributors, agents, and general distributors are not supported.

    Prerequisites

    Before establishing a financial trusteeship relationship, make sure the following conditions are met:

    • Available credit: The main account must have an available credit greater than zero.

    • Entity consistency: The main account and the linked account must belong to the same business entity.

    • Distributor affiliation: The main account and the linked account must be affiliated with the same distributor.

    Payment method information

    As a reseller end user, your account settlements are processed through the Quota allocated by your reseller. The following is important information about payment methods.

    Binding a bank card

    Reseller end users can bind a bank card, PayPal, or other payment methods to their accounts. The binding process is the same as for direct customer accounts. For details, see Payment methods.

    Payment method usage restrictions

    Because checkout payments and pay-as-you-go bills for reseller end users are settled through the Quota allocated by your reseller, the bank card or other payment methods that you bind cannot be used for the following scenarios:

    • Checkout order payments

    • Pay-as-you-go billing settlements

    Binding a payment method does not change your settlement mode. All your charges are still deducted from the Quota allocated by your reseller.

    Bank card binding requirement before converting to a direct customer

    If you plan to convert from a reseller end user to an Alibaba Cloud direct customer, you must first bind a bank card to your account. After the conversion, your bound payment methods will be used for direct settlement with Alibaba Cloud.

    Establish financial trusteeship in the Billing Management console

    To establish financial trusteeship through the Billing Management console, the main account sends an invitation and the linked account accepts it. The trusteeship relationship takes effect after acceptance.

    Invite a linked account from the main account

    1. Log in to the Billing Management console with the main account.

    2. In the left navigation pane, choose Corporate Finance > Linked Account Management.

    3. Click Invite to Link.

    4. Enter the UID of the account to invite, specify a display name, then click Next.

    5. Select the relationship type. Currently, only Financial Trusteeship is available. Read and agree to the financial trusteeship agreement, then click Next.

    6. After the invitation is sent, notify the linked account to review and accept it.

    Accept an invitation from the linked account

    1. Log in to the Billing Management console with the linked account.

    2. In the left navigation pane, choose Corporate Finance > Linked Account Management. Locate the invitation from the main account.

    3. Click Confirm Invitation. A confirmation dialog box appears.

    4. Click Agree to establish the financial trusteeship relationship.

    Establish financial trusteeship in Resource Directory

    If you use Resource Directory to manage multi-account resources, configure delegated payment from the main account when you create a resource account.

    Click Create Member. In the New member account identity selection area, select an account type:

    • Distribution account: The new account is affiliated with the same distributor as the main account. Only delegated payment from the main account is supported for billing.

    • Non-distribution account: The new account is not affiliated with the distributor of the main account. Only self-payment is supported.
