When your Time Series Database (TSDB) instance is running low on timelines or disk space, or write efficiency is not meeting your requirements, resize the instance or upgrade to a higher instance type.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
Access to the TSDB console
Sufficient account balance to cover the cost of the configuration change
Resize or change the instance type
The configuration change takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete. During this time, some requests may fail. Make sure your application has a retry mechanism before you start.
Log on to the TSDB console, locate the target instance, and click Specification Change in the Actions column.
On the Instance Reassignment and Expansion page, select the target instance type or disk space, and confirm the details.
Click Activate to pay and apply the change.
Limitations
Disk shrink is not supported. The new disk space must be larger than the current disk space.
Self-service upgrade range: Currently, you can upgrade from mlarge to 24xlarge.
Larger specifications require a ticket: To upgrade to 48xlarge or 96xlarge, contact customer service and submit a ticket.
Architecture incompatibility: If you see "This instance spec is not supported yet.", the selected instance type is architecturally incompatible with your current instance. Submit a ticket to upgrade the instance first.
