Time Series Database (TSDB) pricing has two components: instance specification and storage space.
Total price = Instance specification price + Storage space price
TSDB supports two billing methods: subscription and pay-as-you-go. For long-term workloads, subscription reduces costs by up to 60% compared to pay-as-you-go.
Instance specifications
An instance specification is defined by two parameters:
Parameter | Description |
Write TPS | Maximum number of data points written per second |
Maximum data collection points | Maximum number of data collection points connected to the instance |
Data collection points are the individual items from which data is collected and sent to TSDB — for example, the CPU usage of a server or the temperature reading from a sensor. Each data collection point produces one time series.
Write TPS measures the maximum rate at which TSDB can ingest data — specifically, the maximum number of data points it can accept per second.
Storage space
Purchase storage based on your actual data volume. Data volume grows over time. If your storage runs out, you can clear some data or purchase additional space.

Example: choosing an instance specification
Use the following formulas to estimate the write TPS and number of data collection points for your workload:
Number of data collection points = Number of devices x Data collection points per device
Write TPS = Number of data collection points x (1 / Reporting interval in seconds)Example: You have 10,000 devices. Each device has 16 data collection points. Data is reported every 20 seconds.
Number of data collection points = 10,000 x 16 = 160,000
Write TPS = 160,000 x (1 / 20) = 8,000 data points/sWith 160,000 data collection points and a write TPS of 8,000, Basic Edition I (write TPS: 10,000; max data collection points: 2.4 million) meets this workload. Purchase storage based on your actual data volume.
