If your resource plan is nearing expiration or your credit balance is low, purchase a new plan from the STAROps console to ensure uninterrupted service.Unsubscribe from a STAROps resource plan to receive a proportional refund for unused credits.
Applicability
These instructions apply only to prepaid resource plan purchases. Pay-as-you-go billing requires no renewal and remains active indefinitely once activated.
Purchase a resource plan
Log on to the STAROps console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Settings and Help and select Credit Usage.
Click Buy Resource Plan.
Select a plan specification and validity period, confirm the order, and complete the payment.
Usage rules
Resource plans support stacking. A newly purchased plan takes effect alongside existing plans and does not overwrite the remaining credits in any existing plan.
When multiple resource plans coexist, credits are consumed starting from the plan closest to expiration to minimize waste.
Unused credits in an expired plan are cleared. Evaluate your actual usage before expiration to decide whether to purchase a new plan.
After all resource plans are exhausted or expired, the system automatically switches to pay-as-you-go billing. Service availability is not affected.
Expiration reminders
STAROps sends expiration reminders through internal messages, SMS, and email before your resource plan expires. Keep your Alibaba Cloud account contact information up to date and purchase a new plan promptly to benefit from better unit pricing.
Unsubscribe from a resource plan
Prerequisites
The resource plan is within the validity period.
You are using an Alibaba Cloud account or a RAM user with unsubscription permissions.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud console.
In the top navigation bar, choose User Center > Resource Unsubscription.
Find the STAROps resource plan and click to unsubscribe.
Confirm the refund amount, select a reason, agree to the terms, and click Submit.
Refund rules
Refunds are calculated based on unused credits:
Refund Amount = Amount Paid × (Remaining Credits / Total Credits)
For example, if a resource plan contains 10,000 credits and 500 have been consumed, the remaining 9,500 credits are eligible for a refund. The refund amount is 95% of the amount paid.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method within 1 to 5 working days, depending on the payment channel.
Limitations and impact
Review the following limitations before you unsubscribe from a resource plan:
Each Alibaba Cloud account is entitled to a maximum of 5 standard unsubscriptions per month, shared across all products. The 5-day no-questions-asked return policy does not apply to this quota.
Expired resource plans cannot be unsubscribed.
After unsubscription, the resource plan immediately becomes invalid and remaining credits are cleared to zero. If no other active resource plans exist, the system switches to pay-as-you-go billing.
Coupons or vouchers deducted from the original payment are not refunded.
