In accordance with the latest requirements from China Telecom, SMS messages sent to China Telecom mobile numbers after May 20, 2025 that include the following content will face a significantly higher risk of interception and delivery failure:
SMS content containing URLs (including short URLs) and IP addresses.
SMS content containing contact information, such as mobile numbers, landline numbers, and customer service numbers.
Solution:
To ensure successful message delivery under these new compliance policies, we strongly advise you to conduct self-inspections of existing message templates intended for the Chinese mainland and modify message content to:
Remove all URLs (including short URLs) and IP addresses.
Omit any forms of contact information.
Additionally, China Telecom has implemented nighttime SMS traffic controls. If you fail to deliver compliant SMS messages during nighttime hours, retry the delivery.
