Cause
A faulty or missing disk driver can prevent the operating system from detecting the disk, which can cause the drive letter to disappear or be assigned incorrectly.
Solutions

If a data disk drive letter is missing, reassign it in Disk Management.

Open .

Right-click the data disk without a drive letter, then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.

Click Add, then assign a drive letter.

If a data disk drive letter is incorrect, change it in Disk Management.

Right-click the data disk with the incorrect drive letter, then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
