Smart Access Gateway:Overdue payments and expiration

Last Updated:Feb 13, 2026

This topic describes the expiration policies for Smart Access Gateway (SAG) resources.

Policy for overdue payments

Subscription resources

For subscription SAG resources—such as SAG hardware instances and SAG vCPE instances—you have already paid the resource fee. You can use these resources normally until they expire. However, if your account has an overdue payment, you cannot perform fee-related operations, such as purchasing new instances, upgrading instance configurations, or placing renewal orders.

If you do not renew a subscription resource within the grace period, the resource is automatically released. For more information, see the following topics:

Resource status after SAG hardware instance expiration

  • Within seven days after an SAG CPE instance expires, the SAG CPE instance is in the suspension state and does not forward data.

During the suspension period, settings related to the SAG CPE instance are retained. You can renew the SAG CPE instance. After you renew the SAG CPE instance, services are restored. For more information, see Renew an SAG CPE instance or an SAG vCPE instance.

  • You can delete an SAG CPE instance in the SAG console seven days after the instance expires. For more information, see Release an SAG instance.

SAG vCPE instance expiration and states

  • Within 15 days after an SAG vCPE instance expires, the SAG vCPE instance is in the suspension state and does not forward data.

During the suspension period, settings related to the SAG vCPE instance are retained. You can renew the SAG vCPE instance. After you renew the SAG vCPE instance, services are restored. For more information, see Renew an SAG CPE instance or an SAG vCPE instance.

  • 15 days after an SAG vCPE instance expires, it is automatically released.

You are notified by text message and email one day before your SAG vCPE instance is released. After an SAG vCPE instance is released, settings related to the SAG vCPE instance are deleted and cannot be restored.
