Server Load Balancer:NLB quotas

Last Updated:Oct 01, 2025

Alibaba Cloud service quotas are typically based on accounts or regions and include general quotas, API rate limits, and privilege quotas.

  • General quotas: the maximum amount of cloud resources that an Alibaba Cloud account can use.

  • API rate limits: the frequency at which an Alibaba Cloud account can call the API operations of an Alibaba Cloud service. This is also known as a queries per second (QPS) limit.

  • Privilege quotas: permissions granted to an Alibaba Cloud account by Alibaba Cloud, such as the right to use specific whitelist features.

Log on to the Quota Center console or the Quota Management page in the Server Load Balancer console to view quotas or request quota increases.

Create an alert rule for a quota item

You can create an alert rule for an NLB quota item. You can set a threshold for the used quota or the remaining quota. When the used or remaining quota reaches the preset threshold, an alert message is sent to the specified webhook address through an HTTP POST request. You can then request a quota increase based on the alert message to prevent business interruptions.

Create an alert rule in Quota Center

  1. Log on to the Quota Center console.

  2. Use one of the following methods to go to the page for creating an alert rule.

    • Method 1: On the General Quota Products page, find the Network section and click Network Load Balancer (NLB) to go to the General Quotas page.

    • Method 2: In the navigation pane on the left, click Quota Alerts. On the Quota Alerts page, click Create Quota Alert. On the General Quotas page, select Network Load Balancer (NLB).

  1. On the General Quotas page, find the quota item and click Create Alert in the Actions column.

  2. In the Create Quota Alert panel, create an alert for the quota item. When the quota reaches the preset threshold, you will receive an alert notification. For more information, see Create a Quota Alert.

  3. In the navigation pane on the left, click Quota Alerts to view the created alert rule.

On the Quota Alerts page, you can manage all created alert rules. For example, you can view, modify, or delete alert rules.

  4. (Optional) View the alert callback result.

If you configure an alert callback, you can view the alert callback records and automatic quota increase requests after the callback is successful.

    1. In the navigation pane on the left, click Alert History to view alert callback records.

If Alert Callback is included in the Notification Channel column for an alert history record, the alert callback is successful.

    2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Application History to view automatic quota increase requests.

Create an alert rule in the Server Load Balancer console

  1. Log on to the Quota Management page in the Server Load Balancer console.

  5. In the Actions column of the quota item, click image.png > Alert Items.

  6. In the Alert List dialog box, view the created alert rule.

Create a quota template

After you enable and join a quota template, if the management account of a resource directory adds a new member, the quota template automatically submits quota increase requests for the new member. Existing members are not affected. Quota templates allow you to request increases for multiple quota items at a time. This improves the efficiency and automation of quota management for your entire organization.

Before you create a quota template, make sure that:
