Server Load Balancer:NLB quotas

Last Updated:Mar 31, 2026

NLB quotas are scoped by account or region. Each quota has a default value, is either adjustable or fixed, and falls into one of three categories: general quotas, API rate limits, or privilege quotas. Use the Quota Center console or the Quota Management pageQuota Management page in the Server Load Balancer console to view your current quotas or submit a quota increase request.

Quota types

  • General quotas: the maximum amount of cloud resources an Alibaba Cloud account can use.

  • API rate limits: the maximum frequency at which an Alibaba Cloud account can call API operations of a cloud service, also expressed as a queries per second (QPS) limit.

  • Privilege quotas: permissions granted to an Alibaba Cloud account by Alibaba Cloud, such as access to specific whitelist features. The default value of a privilege quota is 0, meaning the feature is unavailable until Alibaba Cloud grants authorization.

The default quota values listed here are for reference only. For the actual default values that apply to your account, check the console.

Prerequisite

By default, only Alibaba Cloud accounts can manage quotas in Quota Center. To allow RAM users to manage quotas, grant them the AliyunQuotasFullAccess permission.

Create an alert rule for a quota

Set an alert threshold on the used quota or the remaining quota for an NLB quota item. When the threshold is reached, an alert message is sent to the specified webhook address via an HTTP POST request, so you can submit a quota increase request before your business is affected.

Create an alert rule in Quota Center

  1. Log on to the Quota Center console.

  2. Go to the page for creating an alert rule using either of the following methods:

    • Method 1: On the Products with General Quotas page, find the Networking section and click Network Load Balancer. On the General Quotas page, find the quota item and click Create Alarm Rule in the Actions column.

    • Method 2: In the left navigation pane, click Alarm Rules. On the Alarm Rules page, click Create Quota Alarm Rule.

  3. On the Create Alarm Rule page, configure the alert. For more information, see Create a Quota Alert.

  4. In the left navigation pane, click Alarm Rules to view the alert rule you created. On the Alarm Rules page, you can view, modify, or delete alert rules.

  5. (Optional) View the alert callback result. If you configured an alert callback, you can view the callback records and automatic quota increase requests after a successful callback.

    1. In the left navigation pane, click Alarm History to view alert callback records. If Notification Methods for a record includes alert callback, the callback was successful.

    2. In the left navigation pane, click Application Records to view automatic quota increase requests.

Create an alert rule in the Server Load Balancer console

  1. Log on to the Quota Management pageQuota Management page in the Server Load Balancer console.

  2. On the Quota Center page, click the NLB tab.

  3. Set Quota Type to General Quota, find the quota item, and click Create Alarm Rule in the Actions column.

  4. On the Create Alarm Rule page, create an alert rule for the quota item.

  6. On the Alarm Rules page, view the alert rule you created.

Create a quota template

A quota template automatically submits quota increase requests for new members when a management account in a resource directory adds them. Existing members are not affected. With a quota template, you can request increases for multiple quota items at once, making quota management more efficient across your organization.

Before you create a quota template, make sure that:
