Server Load Balancer:Scheduled O&M events

Last Updated:Dec 03, 2024

Classic Load Balancer (CLB) supports the scheduling of O&M events. You can change the time when an O&M event will be executed to allow sufficient time for you to prepare your business for the system switchover.

Procedure

CLB scheduled O&M events refer to updates, maintenance, and network migrations that Alibaba Cloud will perform, which will impact your CLB instance. Alibaba Cloud notifies you of these events well in advance of their execution, allowing you to understand how your CLB instance will be impacted. You can adjust your business based on the O&M time or adjust the event time according to your business needs.

Note

This feature is available for CLB instances in these regions: China (Hangzhou), China (Shanghai), China (Hong Kong), and US (Virginia).

  1. Log on to the CLB console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose CLB > Scheduled O&M Events.

  3. On the Scheduled O&M Events page, check events on the Pending, Completed, or Canceled tab, and set the event time as needed.

    Pending

    Undue O&M events.

    • Scheduled O&M Time: This is the time when an event will be executed.

To change the scheduled O&M time for an event, click Modify Scheduled O&M Time in the Actions column. Set the new scheduled O&M time to your desired time, then click OK. The system will execute the event at the specified time. You can also select multiple events, click Modify Scheduled O&M Time at the bottom of the page, and set the scheduled O&M time for these events to the same time.

    • Latest Changeable Time: This is the latest time by which an event must be executed.

      Note
      • If you specify the time for an event, a system switchover starts at or after the scheduled O&M time you specified.

      • Scheduled O&M Time can be no later than Latest Changeable Time.

    • To cancel a pending O&M event, find the event that you want to manage on the Pending tab, and click Cancel in the Actions column. Then, the event is displayed on the Canceled tab, where you can restore this event again. You can also select multiple events, click Cancel at the bottom of the page, and cancel them all at once.

    Completed

    Completed O&M events.

    • Scheduled O&M Time: This is the time scheduled for an event to happen. A system switchover always starts at or after the scheduled O&M time.

    • Actual Switchover Time: This is the time when an event actually happens.

    Canceled

User canceled or failed O&M events.

    • Scheduled Cancelation Time: This is the time when an event is canceled by the user or an O&M failure occurs.

    • Cause of Cancelation:

      • Cancelation indicates that an event is canceled by the user.

        Note

If a canceled event does not reach its Latest Changeable Time, it can be restored by clicking Restore in the Cause of Cancelation column. After an event is restored, it is displayed on the Pending tab. You can also select multiple events, click Restore at the bottom of the page, and restore them all at once.

      • O&M change failure indicates that an O&M failure has occurred.
