A service quota is the maximum number of cloud resources or operations that an Alibaba Cloud account can use. This topic describes the quotas, default values, and upgrade options for Application Load Balancer (ALB).
Alibaba Cloud service quotas are typically limited by account or region. Quotas are classified into the following types:
General quota: The maximum number of cloud resources that an Alibaba Cloud account can use.
API rate limit: The maximum frequency at which an Alibaba Cloud account can call the API operations of an Alibaba Cloud service. This is also known as a queries per second (QPS) limit.
Privileges: The permissions to use advanced features. Privileges are granted by Alibaba Cloud to an account. You can request an ALB privilege to obtain permission to use ALB features that are not enabled by default.
ALB provides general quotas, API rate limits, and whitelist quotas. You can also adjust some of these quotas. You can log on to the Alibaba Cloud Quota Center console or the Quota Management page in the ALB console to view your quotas or request quota increases. For more information about managing ALB quotas, see Manage ALB quotas.
General quotas
The following table lists the general quotas for ALB.
The quotas listed in this topic are for reference only. The actual quotas in the console shall prevail.

Privilege quotas
The default value of a privilege quota is 0. A value of 0 indicates that the feature is unavailable by default. You can use the feature only after Alibaba Cloud grants you the required privilege. The following table lists the privilege quotas for ALB.
Starting from 00:00:00, February 25, 2025 (UTC+8), new instances will be ALB-upgraded instances by default.
For existing instances, we will notify you before we perform a background upgrade.
