Regions and zones supported by ALB
This topic describes the regions and zones that Application Load Balancer (ALB) supports.
Overview of regions and zones
A region is a geographical area that contains data centers. You cannot change the region of a resource after it is created. A zone is a physical area within a region that has independent power and networks.
Zones within the same region can communicate with each other over an internal network. Each zone is isolated to prevent failures. If a zone fails, the other zones are not affected. Each region is completely independent. Zones in different regions are completely isolated. However, zones within the same region are connected using low-latency links.
ALB distributes traffic across the zones that you select. This provides real-time disaster recovery between zones. A failure in one zone does not affect traffic forwarding in the other zones.
Regions and zones supported by ALB
The regions and zones that support ALB are listed in the following tables for your reference. For the most up-to-date information, see the buy page.
