Simple Application Server:Upload files to simple application servers

You can use Command Assistant to upload on-premises files such as configuration files and scripts to simple application servers.

Prerequisites

  • The simple application server to which you want to upload files is in the Running state.

  • Cloud Assistant Agent is in the Installed state.

    • If Cloud Assistant Agent is in the Uninstalled state, install it as instructed.

    • If Cloud Assistant Agent is in the Abnormal state or its version does not meet the requirements, restart Cloud Assistant Agent or manually install Cloud Assistant Agent. For Linux instances, the version of Cloud Assistant Agent must be 1.0.2.569 or later. For Windows instances, the version of Cloud Assistant Agent must be 1.0.0.149 or later.

  • The file that you want to upload cannot exceed 24 KB in size.

    To upload a file of more than 24 KB in size, use other methods. For more information, see Transfer data.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Simple Application Server console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Command Assistant.

  3. In the upper-right corner of the page that appears, click Send File.

  4. In the Send File panel, configure parameters based on your business requirements.

    The following table describes the parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Destination OS

    Required. The OS of the simple application server to which you want to upload a file.

    Upload File

    Required. The method to upload a file. You must follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upload.

    • Upload File: Click or drag the file that you want to upload to the window that appears.

    • Paste File Content: Copy and paste the content of the file that you want to upload to the text box.

    Overwrite

    Specifies whether to overwrite the file that has the same name as the file that you want to upload. By default, Overwrite is turned off.

    File Name

    Required. The name of the file.

    Important

    If you turn off Overwrite, the name must be globally unique.

    Destination Path

    Required. The absolute path to the file on the simple application server.

    • Default value for Linux instances: /root

    • Default value for Windows instances: C:\Users\Administrator\Documents

    File Description

    The description of the file for easy identification.

    Timeout Period

    The timeout period of file sending. When the file sending task times out, Cloud Assistant forcefully terminates the task process.

    Unit: seconds. Valid values: 10 to 86400. Default value: 60.

    Select Servers

    The server to which you want to upload the file. You can specify multiple servers to upload the file to at the same time.

  5. Click Send.

    On the File Sending Result tab, view the execution result.

View the execution result of file sending

  1. Log on to the Simple Application Server console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Command Assistant.

  3. On the Cloud Assistant page, click the File Sending Result tab.

  4. View the execution status, destination path, and file name.

    You can also perform the following operations in the Actions column:

    • Click View Details to view the details of the execution result.

    • Click Export to export the execution result.

    • Click Resend to send the file again.
