Simple Application Server:Simple Application Server quota management

Last Updated:Jun 21, 2026

A quota is the maximum quantity of a cloud resource or number of operations that an Alibaba Cloud account can use. In Quota Center, you can view your Simple Application Server quota limits and usage. You can also request a quota increase or configure a quota alert to meet your business needs. This topic explains how to manage instance quotas and API rate quotas for Simple Application Server.

View or increase an instance quota

An instance quota is the maximum number of Simple Application Server instances for a single Alibaba Cloud account in a region.

  1. Go to the General Quotas of Simple Application Server page and select the desired region.

  2. In the general quota list, view or apply for a quota increase.

    • The value in the Quota column is the quota limit, with a default of 50. The value in the Used column is the current usage.

    • Request a quota increase:

      Note

      Quota reduction is not supported.

      1. In the Actions column, click Apply.

      2. In the Apply for Quotas dialog box, configure the parameters.

        • Applied Quota: For a first-time request, enter a value from 51 to 1000. For subsequent requests, enter a value greater than your current quota and up to 1,000.

        • Reason: Enter a valid reason for the application.

        • Notify Result: Keep the default value. You will be notified of the result by text message and email.

      3. Click OK.

      4. Check the approval status.

After you submit the request, approval typically takes about 5 minutes.

        • Check in the console

In the general quota list, in the Actions column, choose Application Records to view the status of your quota increase request. If the status is Approved, the quota increase takes effect.

        • Check your text messages or email.

View API rate quotas

An API rate quota limits the call frequency of an OpenAPI. For example, the quota for CreateInstances is 50/60(s). Simple Application Server API rate quotas apply to APIs of version 2020-06-01, covering operations for instances, firewalls, and snapshots.

Note

Requesting a quota increase is not supported.

  1. Go to the API Rate Limits of Simple Application Server page and select the desired region.

  2. In the API rate quota list, view the quotas. The value in the Quota column is the rate limit for the corresponding API.

    Note

You can filter the list by entering an API name in the keyword field.
