Before you send messages to regions outside mainland China, you must register a sender ID in the Short Message Service (SMS) console. This topic describes how to register a sender ID.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the SMS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Go Globe.
  3. On the Go Globe page, click the SenderID tab.senderID英文版
  4. Click SenderID Report. On the SenderID Report page, set the required parameters. For more information, see Parameters.
  5. Click OK.
    Note
    • The registration review process is completed within one or two weeks.
    • Registration applications are reviewed from 9:00 to 23:00 (UTC+8) every day, excluding statutory holidays.
    • Registration applications are reviewed based on sender IDs and use scenarios. The time required for registration review varies with the country or region.

Parameters

The following table lists the parameters that you must specify when you register a sender ID.

Parameter Description
SenderID The ID of the sender. The ID can contain letters and digits. If the ID contains letters and digits, it must be 1 to 11 characters in length. If the ID contains only digits, it must be 1 to 15 characters in length. We recommend that you enter a valid application name, website name, or company name.
Corporate Name The name of the company on the business license. A company name must be 1 to 50 characters in length and can contain special characters such as spaces.
Website Domain Name The website domain name of your company.
Destination Country/Region The region that receives messages.
Brand Type Valid values: Local brand and International brand.
Note This parameter is available only when the Destination Country/Region parameter is set to Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, or Vietnam.
Upload Certificated Documents

Membership Form: the customer registration process.

NPWP: the tax identification number. Upload the NPWP only when you send messages to Indonesia.

OJK: the financial license. Upload the OJK only when you send messages to Indonesia.

Letter Appointment or Network Operation Center (Non-objection Certificate): the authorization letter or NOC.

XL, Hutch, Telkomsel, Smartfren, and Indosat: the carriers. The registration application documents of all these telecommunication service providers must be uploaded.

Note The description of your business. The following information is required:
  • Brand name
  • Countries or regions where customers reside
  • Expected monthly traffic
  • Message template content
  • Traffic type (Confirm whether messages are sent to mainland China or somewhere else.)
  • Industry

Rules

The following table describes the registration rules of sender IDs in different countries or regions.

United States and Canada Required To ensure high success rates of message delivery, you must register a 10-digit long code (10DLC) as required by North American telecommunications. 7 to 10 working days
Indonesia (Users from Indonesia and users from regions outside Indonesia use different registration processes) Required If you do not register a sender ID, you fail to send messages to Indonesia. Materials required:
  • The sender ID, message type, message template, brand name, and company website address are required for an international brand.
  • A user authorization letter and an authorization letter of Alibaba Cloud are required for a local brand.
  • International brands: 2 weeks
  • Local brands: 2 to 4 weeks
Japan Optional If you register an alphanumeric sender ID, the message displays a dynamic sender ID. If you register a numeric sender ID, the message displays a long code or default alphabetic sender ID. 1 to 3 working days
Hong Kong (China) Optional The message displays a dynamic alphanumeric sender ID or a numeric sender ID. Registration is required. You need to provide the company name and industry to which you belong. The company name and industry name are required. 2 to 3 working days
Vietnam Required The sender ID, message template, message type, business information, business license, an authorization letter of Alibaba Cloud, and a user authorization letter are required. 2 to 4 weeks
Singapore Optional The message displays a dynamic alphanumeric sender ID or a numeric sender ID. 1 to 3 working days
UK Optional The message displays a dynamic alphanumeric sender ID or a numeric sender ID. 1 to 3 working days
Australia Optional The message displays a dynamic alphanumeric sender ID or a numeric sender ID. 1 to 3 working days

Pakistan Required The message displays a short code as required by Ufone and Telenor. The sender ID, message template, industry name, message type, business information, and company website address are required. 1 or 2 weeks
Oman Required The sender ID, message template, message type, business information, an authorization letter of Alibaba Cloud, and a user authorization letter are required. 1 or 2 weeks
New Zealand Optional The message displays a short code. 1 to 3 working days

Russia Required An authorization letter of Alibaba Cloud and the Tax Identification Number (TIN) are required. The monthly fee for a single sender ID is 60 euros. 1 or 2 weeks

Saudi Arabia Required Add the prefix AD- or the suffix -AD to the SenderID parameter. An authorization letter of Alibaba Cloud is required. 2 to 3 weeks
