Specify a maintenance window

Alibaba Cloud periodically performs updates and maintenance on ApsaraDB for SelectDB instances. Set the maintenance window to an off-peak period to reduce the impact on your workloads.

Usage notes

Before maintenance begins, ApsaraDB for SelectDB notifies the contacts in your Alibaba Cloud account by text message or email.
During maintenance, the instance enters the Maintaining Read-only Instance state. In this state, you can only view instance information — operations such as changing cluster configurations, stopping clusters, and deleting clusters are unavailable. Maintenance takes about 10 minutes to complete. When it finishes, the instance returns to the Running state.
Expect one or two brief service interruptions during the maintenance window. Make sure your application can automatically reconnect to the instance.

Set the maintenance window

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

An ApsaraDB for SelectDB instance
Access to the ApsaraDB for SelectDB console

Steps

Log on to the ApsaraDB for SelectDB console.
In the top navigation bar, select the region where your instance resides.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances. On the Instances page, find the instance and click its instance ID. The Instance Details page appears.
In the Configuration Information section, click Modify next to O &M Time.
In the dialog box, select a maintenance window during off-peak hours, then click OK.
