    Security Center:Enable container image scan

    Enable and purchase the container image scan feature in Security Center.

    Supported editions

    Container image scan is a value-added service of Security Center. Only Advanced Edition, Enterprise, Ultimate, and Value-added Plan users can purchase this service.

    Billing

    • Billing unit: Security Center identifies images by digest. An unchanged digest consumes one scan on the first scan only. After a digest changes, another scan is consumed.

      For example, to scan 10 images with 20 expected updates during the subscription period, set Container Image Scan to 30 (10 + 20).

    • Billing modes:

      • Subscription: Purchase a fixed scan quota upfront. Billed by purchased quota: USD 0.1/image/month.

      • Pay-as-you-go: No upfront quota purchase required. Billed by actual scan count: USD 0.15/scan.

        Note

        A base service fee is also charged for overall pay-as-you-go usage. For more information, see Pay-as-you-go.

    Enable the service as a Basic Edition user

    1. Log on to the Security Center console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Protection Configuration > Container Protection > Container Image Scan. In the upper-left corner of the console, select the region where your assets are deployed: Chinese Mainland or Outside Chinese Mainland.

    3. Select an activation method based on your business requirements and costs.

      Subscription

      1. Click Buy Now to go to the purchase page.

      2. On the purchase page, set Edition to Advanced, Enterprise, Ultimate or Value-added Plan.

        Note

        • The Ultimate includes all features of the Enterprise plus Container Asset Overview, Threat Detection on Kubernetes Containers, and Unified Visibility, Cross-Domain Integration. For stronger container security, choose the Ultimate. For edition differences, see Features.

        • If you only need container image scan, set Edition to Value-added Plan, and then purchase a sufficient quota for Container Image Scan.

      3. For Container Image Scan, set Purchase or Not to Yes, and then increase the Quantity.

      Pay-as-you-go

      1. Click Activate Pay-as-you-go, carefully read the Security Center (Pay-as-you-go) Terms of Service, and then click Activate Now.

      2. After you activate pay-as-you-go, the Container Image Scan page displays the Used Quota statistics panel, which records the actual number of image scans used.

        • To stop the pay-as-you-go service, click Suspended.

        • If your account has overdue payments, the panel displays Suspended Due to Overdue Payments and a Pay Now link that redirects you to the billing center to complete the payment.

    Enable the service as a paid edition user

    • Anti-virus: Upgrade to Advanced Edition, Enterprise or Ultimate, enable the Container Image Scan feature, and purchase a sufficient scan quota.

    • Advanced Edition, Enterprise or Ultimate: Enable the Container Image Scan feature and purchase a sufficient scan quota.
