    Security Center:Create a restoration task

    If database data has been infiltrated by ransomware, you can create a restoration task to recover data encrypted by ransomware and minimize the losses caused by ransomware. This topic describes how to create a restoration task and view the status of restoration tasks.

    Prerequisites

    • A protection policy has been created for the database and the policy is running properly (database data can be backed up normally).

    • The number of restorable versions under the protection policy is not zero.

    Procedure

    1. Log on to Security Center console.In the left-side navigation pane, choose Protection Configuration > Host Protection > Anti-Ransomware. In the upper-left corner of the console, select the region where the asset to be protected is located: Chinese Mainland or Outside Chinese Mainland.

    2. In the protection policy list under the Anti-ransomware for Databases tab, expand the target protection policy, locate the database whose backup data you want to restore, and click Restore in the Actions column.

    3. In the Create Restoration Task dialog box, configure the restoration task.

      The configuration items for creating a restoration task vary by database type.

      Important

      Backup data restoration supports cross-server restoration (a protection policy is created on the target server and the anti-ransomware agent is successfully installed), but does not support cross-OS restoration.

      • If the database to restore is a MySQL database, configure the following parameters.

        Parameter

        Description

        Recovery time point

        Select the backup time point of the backup data to restore. If the database has been infiltrated by ransomware, select the backup closest to the intrusion time when creating the restoration task to ensure that the restored data has minimal difference from the data before the intrusion.

        Restore target server

        Select the server to which data is restored.

      • If the database to restore is a SQL Server database, configure the following parameters.

        Select database

        Select the backup database to restore.

        Backup set for restoration

        Select the backup data to restore. If the database has been infiltrated by ransomware, select the backup closest to the intrusion time when creating the restoration task to ensure that the restored data has minimal difference from the data before the intrusion.

        Restore target server

        Select the server to which data is restored.

      • If the database to restore is an Oracle database, configure the following parameters.

        Parameter

        Description

        Select recovery version

        Select the version of the backup data to restore, that is, select which time period of backup data to restore.

        Recovery time point

        Select a specific time point for the restoration. You can select any time point within the backup time range of the recovery version as the recovery time point.

        Restore to server

        Select the server to which data is restored.

    4. Click OK.

      The anti-ransomware agent starts to execute the backup data restoration task.

      Important

      When a data restoration task is being executed, if the target server is also running a data backup task at the same time, the restoration task fails. We recommend that you disable the backup task on the target server before creating a restoration task.

    View restoration tasks

    Above the policy list, click the restoration data under Restoring/Restoration Records to go to the Restoration Task panel to view created restoration records.
