Security Center provides the upgrade and downgrade features. If your business requirements change, you can upgrade your Security Center edition and upgrade or downgrade value-added features. This topic describes how to upgrade or downgrade Security Center.

Supported upgraded and downgraded operations

Operation category Operation Scenario
Upgrade Upgrade the edition of Security Center. If the edition that you use cannot meet your requirements, you can upgrade Security Center to deliver more comprehensive protection.
Increase the value of the Protected Servers or vCore parameter. The value of the Protected Servers or vCore parameter is less than the number of servers within your Alibaba Cloud account.
Note In the upper-right corner of the Security Center console, a message prompting you to increase the number of servers that can be protected appears.
Purchase value-added features. After you purchase Security Center, you can purchase value-added features, such as web tamper proofing, anti-ransomware, and container image scan.
Upgrade value-added features. After you purchase value-added features, you can increase the log storage capacity, anti-ransomware capacity, or quota for web tamper proofing.
Downgrade Disable value-added features. If you no longer want to use the purchased value-added features, such as web tamper proofing and anti-ransomware, you can disable the features.
Notice To disable web tamper proofing, perform the following operations: Log on to the Security Center console. On the Downgrade page, select Yes for the Web Tamper Protection parameter, set the Quota for Web Tamper Proofing parameter to 0, and then select No for the Web Tamper Protection parameter.
Downgrade value-added features. After you purchase value-added features, you can reduce the log storage capacity, anti-ransomware capacity, quota for web tamper proofing, and value of Container Image Scan.
Note When your Security Center is released, logs are automatically deleted.
Note
  • You cannot downgrade the cloud honeypot feature of Security Center.
  • If you want to change the edition of Security Center, the number of servers that can be protected, or the quota for cloud honeypot, you can change the specifications in the next billing cycle. The specifications in the current billing cycle are not affected.

Upgrade and downgrade fees

Operation category Fee
Upgrade You must pay the price difference for an upgrade.

The price difference is calculated based on the following formula: Price difference = (Fees of additional servers that can be protected + Fees of value-added features) × Number of days in the remaining validity period of Security Center.

Downgrade You can receive a refund for the value-added features that you disable or downgrade.

The refund is calculated based on the following formula: Refund = Fees of disabled or downgraded value-added features × Number of days in the remaining validity period of Security Center.

Prerequisites

Before you upgrade or downgrade Security Center, make sure that your account has no pending orders for renewal or specifications changes. If the orders have taken effect, they are not affected.

Upgrade

  1. Log on to the Security Center console. On the Overview page, choose Change Specifications > Upgrade Now.
  2. On the Upgrade/Downgrade page, configure the Edition, Protected Servers, and vCore parameters, enable value-added features and configure the required parameters, read and select Security Center Terms of Service, and then click Buy Now.

Downgrade

  1. Log on to the Security Center console. On the Overview page, choose Change Specifications > Downgrade.
  2. On the Downgrade page, disable and downgrade value-added features, read and select Security Center Terms of Service, and then click Buy Now.
