Each Smart Access Gateway (SAG) app instance uses an enterprise code to identify your organization. Users enter this code — along with their username and password — when logging in to the SAG app client.
Enterprise code types
An enterprise code is a five-character, globally unique identifier made up of letters and digits.
SAG uses two types of enterprise codes:

| Default enterprise code | Automatically generated for each Alibaba Cloud account. Every SAG app instance is assigned a default enterprise code. |
| Custom enterprise code | Created manually. Globally unique after creation. Can be attached to an SAG app instance and takes priority over the default enterprise code. |
How default code changes work: After you set a custom enterprise code as the new default, all SAG app instances purchased from that point on are assigned the new default code. Existing instances retain their current codes unless you update them manually.
Naming tip: Choose a short, memorable code — such as your company abbreviation — so users can enter it without errors.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:

An Alibaba Cloud account with access to the SAG console

(Required for changing the default enterprise code) At least one custom enterprise code already created
Create a custom enterprise code

Log on to the SAG console.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose Smart Access Gateway APP > Enterprise Codes.

On the Enterprise Codes page, click Create Enterprise Code.

In the Create Enterprise Code dialog box, enter a five-character code consisting of letters and digits, then click OK.
The enterprise code must be globally unique. If the code you entered is already in use, enter a different one.
Change the default enterprise code
Setting a custom enterprise code as the default means all new SAG app instances are assigned that code going forward. The previous default enterprise code automatically becomes a custom enterprise code.

Log on to the SAG console.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose Smart Access Gateway APP > Enterprise Codes.

On the Enterprise Code Management page, find the custom enterprise code you want to set as default, then click Set As Default in the Actions column.

In the Set Default Enterprise Code message, confirm the enterprise code and click OK.
Change the enterprise code of an SAG app instance
Each SAG app instance is assigned one enterprise code. Follow these steps to assign a different code to a specific instance.

Log on to the SAG console.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose Smart Access Gateway App > SAG App Instances.

On the SAG App Instances page, find the target instance. In the Actions column, choose
> Change Enterprise Code. -
In the Change Enterprise Code dialog box, select one of the following options and click OK:
Option Description Existing Enterprise Code Select a custom enterprise code you have already created. Create Enterprise Code Enter a new five-character code. SAG creates the code and attaches it to the instance automatically.
Delete an enterprise code
Before deleting an enterprise code, check the following constraints:

Default enterprise code: Cannot be deleted directly. First set another custom enterprise code as the default (see Change the default enterprise code), which demotes the current default to a custom code. Then delete it.

Enterprise code attached to an instance: Cannot be deleted while in use. First reassign the instance to a different enterprise code (see Change the enterprise code of an SAG app instance), then delete the code.
To delete an enterprise code:

Log on to the SAG console.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose Smart Access Gateway APP > Enterprise Codes.

On the Enterprise Codes page, find the target enterprise code and click Remove in the Actions column.

In the Delete Enterprise Code message, confirm the enterprise code and click OK.
