Serverless App Engine:How to migrate HSF applications hosted in EDAS to SAE?

Last Updated:Apr 01, 2026

When migrating High-speed Service Framework (HSF) applications from Enterprise Distributed Application Service (EDAS) to Serverless App Engine (SAE), you typically run both platforms in parallel during the transition. For example, a Provider deployed in SAE may need to call a Consumer still running in EDAS, or vice versa. Cross-platform HSF calls require all applications on both sides to meet the following three conditions.

Migration requirements

RequirementDetails
Same Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)EDAS and SAE applications must belong to the same VPC.
Same namespaceApplications must register in the same namespace so that HSF service discovery works across both platforms.
No security group restrictionsSecurity group rules must allow inbound and outbound traffic on the ports your HSF services use, between EDAS and SAE application instances.

Before you begin

Before creating applications in SAE, verify the following:

  • The target SAE namespace matches the namespace used by your existing EDAS applications.

  • The SAE application's VPC matches the VPC of your existing EDAS applications.

  • The security groups attached to both EDAS and SAE instances permit traffic on the ports your HSF services use.
