    Resource Orchestration Service:Share templates with resource directory members

    In a resource directory, you can use Alibaba Cloud resource sharing to share ROS templates from a management account or member with other members. This centralizes template management and reduces operational costs.

    Prerequisites

    Ensure that resource sharing is enabled for your resource directory. For more information, see Enable resource sharing for a resource directory.

    Overview

    Share ROS templates by creating a resource share.

    Step 1: Share a template

    1. Log on to the Resource Management console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Sharing > Resources I Share.

    3. In the upper-left corner, select the region of the ROS template.

      Note

      ROS templates are global resources. You must select the China (Shanghai) region to create a resource share.

    4. Click Create Resource Share.

    5. In the Resource Share Name field, enter a name.

    6. In the Resources section, set Resource Type to ROS Template, select the template by its Template ID/Name (for example, c304e944-6304-4dd9-8c4b-******), and then click Next.

    7. In the Add Principals section, add principals for the resource share.

      In this example, an ROS template is shared with a resource directory member named Alice.

      1. For Add Mode, select Add Manually.

      2. For Principal Type, select Alibaba Cloud Account.

      3. For Principal ID, enter the ID of the member's account.

      4. Click Add.

    8. Click OK.

      An Enabled status confirms the resource share was created.

      Click the resource share ID. On the Resources and Principals tabs, verify the status is Associated. This indicates that the resource and principals have been added successfully.

    Step 2: Use the shared template

    1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud console as the member.

    2. In the ROS console, create a stack from the shared template.

      1. Navigate to the ROS console.

      2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Stack.

      3. In the upper-left corner, select the region for the stack.

      4. On the Stacks page, click Create Stack. In the Specify Template section, click Select an Existing Template.

        • If you select Create Template or ROS Infrastructure Composer, you are redirected to the corresponding page.

      5. On the Select Template page, under Specify Template, keep Select an Existing Template selected. Set Template Import Method to My Templates. In the My Templates section, select the shared template (for example, template_vpc01), and click Next.

      6. On the next page, configure the stack parameters as required, and then click Create.
