This topic describes how to delete an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) resource without deleting the Resource Orchestration Service (ROS) stack to which the resource belongs.
You can use the resource cleanup feature of ROS to delete an ECS resource without deleting the ROS stack.
Log on to the ROS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Resource Cleanup page, click Create Scenario to create a scenario.
Set How to select resources to Resource Type.
In the Resource type section, select ECS:Instance from the Value drop-down list.
Click Create.
On the Resource Cleanup page, click the ID of the scenario that you created.
On the scenario details page, click Update in the upper-right corner.
In the Resource cleaner options section, set Action to Clean Up.
You can also select values from the Value drop-down list in the Excluded Resources section to exclude the resources that you do not want to clean up.
Click Update.
You can view the cleanup status of the resource on the Overview tab of the scenario details page.
