Resource Management:Manage a delegated administrator account for Tag Policy

Last Updated:Dec 04, 2025

You can use the management account of your resource directory to specify a member in the resource directory as a delegated administrator account of the Tag Policy feature. This way, you can use the delegated administrator account instead of the management account to enable the Tag Policy feature in resource directory mode, create a tag policy, and standardize the tag-related operations performed by using members in the resource directory.

Background information

For more information about delegated administrator accounts, see What is a delegated administrator account?

Limits

You can add a maximum of two delegated administrator accounts.

Add a delegated administrator account

  1. Log on to the Resource Management console by using the management account of your resource directory.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Directory > Trusted Services.

  3. On the Trusted Services page, click Manage in the Actions column that corresponds to the Tag service.

  4. In the Delegated Administrator Accounts section of the page that appears, click Add.

  5. In the Add Delegated Administrator Account panel, select a member.

  6. Click OK.

After the delegated administrator account is added, you can use the account to perform the following operations:

    • View the information about the structure and members of the resource directory when you use the Tag Policy feature.

    • Perform operations such as enabling or disabling the Tag Policy feature in resource directory mode, creating tag policies, and attaching tag policies.

Remove a delegated administrator account

  1. Log on to the Resource Management console by using the management account of your resource directory.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Directory > Trusted Services.

  3. On the Trusted Services page, click Manage in the Actions column that corresponds to the Tag service.

  4. In the Delegated Administrator Account section of the page that appears, find the delegated administrator account that you want to remove, and click Remove in the Actions column.

  5. In the Remove Delegated Administrator Account message, click OK.

After the delegated administrator account is removed, you cannot perform the following operations:

    • View the information about the structure and members of the resource directory when you use the Tag Policy feature.

After a delegated administrator account is removed, existing tag policies are not affected.
