Resource Management:Deactivate Resource Center

Last Updated:Jul 22, 2026

Before you deactivate Resource Center, review the impacts on resource data visibility and the limitations that apply.

Impacts

  • After deactivation, you can no longer view resource data:

    • Standalone Alibaba Cloud accounts lose access to their resource data.

    • Deactivating from a management account of a Resource Directory or a delegated administrator account also disables cross-account resource search. You lose access to resource data across all accounts, and members lose access to their own resource data.

  • Dependent features such as the Resource Management module on the console homepage and CloudConfig lose access to resource data.

Limitations

  • Only the account that enabled cross-account resource features can deactivate Resource Center.

For example, if you enabled cross-account resource search from your management account, only that management account can disable it, not a delegated administrator account.

  • Before deactivating Resource Center, disable all dependent services and features, such as CloudConfig and cross-resource-group transfers.

Procedure

Note

If you cannot access the Resource Center console, you can deactivate Resource Center by using Alibaba Cloud CLI or OpenAPI.

After deactivating Resource Center, you can delete the AliyunServiceRoleForResourceMetaCenter service-linked role in the RAM console.

  1. Log in to the Resource Center console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Center > Settings.

  3. In the Deactivate Resource Center section, click Deactivate.

  4. In the Deactivate dialog box, click OK.

FAQ

What do I do if I fail to delete the AliyunServiceRoleForResourceMetaCenter service-linked role?

If you fail to delete the AliyunServiceRoleForResourceMetaCenter service-linked role, handle the issue based on the following scenarios:

  • Scenario 1: Deletion fails because dependent services are not released

If dependent services such as Resource Directory or resource groups have not been fully released, go to the Resource Management console to check and release the related configurations. After the dependent features are fully deactivated, the system automatically cleans up the AliyunServiceRoleForResourceMetaCenter service-linked role. You do not need to manually delete it.

  • Scenario 2: Deletion fails because Resource Center is not deactivated

If Resource Center is not deactivated (including cases where no resources exist in the corresponding regions), you cannot delete the service-linked role. Follow the procedure in this topic to deactivate Resource Center, and then delete the AliyunServiceRoleForResourceMetaCenter service-linked role.
