This topic describes how to view the resource metrics and engine metrics of an ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance in the ApsaraDB RDS console.
Database Autonomy Service (DAS) provides intelligent monitoring, diagnostics, and optimization features. For more information, see Overview of DAS.
- Go to the Instances page. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which the RDS instance resides. Then, find the RDS instance and click the ID of the instance.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Monitoring and Alerts.
On the Standard Monitoring tab of the page that appears, click the Resource Monitoring or Engine Monitoring tab. Then, specify a time range to view the related metrics. The following table describes the metrics.
Disk Space (MB)
The disk usage of your RDS instance. The disk usage provides the following information:
Disk Space Used
Data Space Used
Log Space Used
Temporary File Space Used
System File Space Used
The number of input and output operations that are performed per second. Unit: counts/s.
The total number of connections that are established to your RDS instance.
CPU Utilization (Percentage in Operating System: %)
The CPU utilization of your RDS instance. The CPU utilization includes the CPU utilization for the operating system that is used.
Inbound/Outbound Traffic per Second for SQL Server Instances (KB/s)
The volume of inbound traffic and the volume of outbound traffic of your RDS instance per second. Unit: KB.Note
To provide bandwidth usage in a more accurate manner, ApsaraDB RDS allows your RDS instance to collect traffic statistics from the network interface controllers of Windows operating systems. This is supported when your RDS instance runs RDS Basic Edition, RDS High-availability Edition, or RDS Cluster Edition in a Windows operating system.
Transactions per Second
The number of transactions that are processed per second.
SQL Statements Executed per Second
The number of SQL statements that are executed per second.
Cache Hit Rate (%)
The percentage of read queries that are hit in the buffer pool.
Pages Written by Checkpoint per Second
The number of checkpoints that are written to pages per second.
Logons per Second
The number of logons to your RDS instance per second.
Full Table Scans per Second
The number of full table scans that are performed per second.
SQL Compiles per Second
The number of SQL statements that are compiled per second.
Lock Timeouts per Second
The number of lock time-outs that occur per second.
Deadlocks per Second
The number of deadlocks that occur per second.
Lock Waits per Second
The number of lock waits that occur per second.
