ApsaraDB RDS:Autonomy center

Last Updated:Mar 30, 2026

Database Autonomy Service (DAS) continuously monitors your ApsaraDB RDS for PostgreSQL instance, detects performance anomalies, identifies their root causes, and generates optimization suggestions or loss-mitigation actions. The autonomy center gives you a single view of all detected events — exceptions, optimization events, and auto scaling events — along with the key performance metrics recorded at the time each event occurred.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure that:

  • Your RDS instance runs RDS High-availability Edition

How it works

DAS monitors core instance metrics around the clock. When an anomaly is detected, DAS examines sessions, SQL statements, and instance capacity to identify the root cause, then generates optimization suggestions or loss-mitigation actions.

If you authorize DAS to act automatically, it applies these actions on your behalf.

View autonomy center events

  1. Go to the Instances page. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your RDS instance resides, then click the instance ID.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Autonomy Service > Diagnostics.

  3. Click the Autonomy Center tab.

  4. Set the time range to scope the events you want to review. The tab displays all events within the selected period. For each event, the trend chart shows:

    • The duration of the event

    • CPU Utilization, Active Sessions, and IOPS readings at the time of the event

  5. Find the event you want to investigate, then click Details. The details view shows the full analysis for that event: the detected anomaly, the root cause identified by DAS, and any actions taken or suggested.
