ApsaraDB RDS:Use the event subscription feature

Database Autonomy Service (DAS) provides the event subscription feature for ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL. After you enable the event subscription feature for your ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instance, the system sends you notifications when related events are detected. You can specify a notification method based on your business requirements.

Prerequisites

Your RDS instance runs one of the following MySQL versions and RDS editions:

  • MySQL 8.0 on RDS High-availability Edition, RDS Enterprise Edition, or RDS Cluster Edition

  • MySQL 5.7 on RDS High-availability Edition, RDS Enterprise Edition, or RDS Cluster Edition

  • MySQL 5.6 on RDS High-availability Edition

  • MySQL 5.5 on RDS High-availability Edition

Procedure

  1. Go to the Instances page. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which the RDS instance resides. Then, find the RDS instance and click the ID of the instance.
  2. Use one of the following methods to go to the Autonomous Function Management panel:

    • In the left-side navigation pane, choose Autonomy Services > Diagnostics. On the page that appears, click the Autonomy Center tab. On the Autonomy Center tab, click Autonomy Service Settings.

    • In the left-side navigation pane, choose Autonomy Services > Dashboard. On the Dashboard of the page that appears, click Autonomy Service Settings.

  3. On the Event Subscription Settings tab of the panel that appears, turn on Enable Subscription Service and configure the following parameters.

    Description

    Urgency

    The lowest severity level of events for which the system sends notifications. After an event at or above this level occurs, the system sends a notification. Valid values:

    • Critical: events that affect the running of the RDS instance.

    • Warning: events that may affect the running of the RDS instance.

    • Optimize: events for which optimization suggestions are generated based on the status of the RDS instance.

    • Notification: exceptions for which no suggestions are generated.

    Select Contacts/Contact Groups

    The contacts and contact groups to which the system sends notifications. Select one or more contacts or contact groups in the Existing Contacts/Contact Groups section and click the 042701 icon to add the selected contacts or contact groups to the Selected Contacts/Contact Groups section.

    Notification Method

    The method that is used by the system to send notifications. Valid values:

    • SMS

    • Webhook

    • SMS + Webhook

    • SMS + Email

    Note

    Webhook is supported for DingTalk, Enterprise WeChat, Lark, and Application Real-Time Monitoring Service (ARMS).

    Notification Language

    Only Chinese is supported.

    Minimum Notification Interval

    The minimum interval between two notifications for the same event. If an event lasts after the system sends a notification of this event, the system sends the notification again only after this interval ends.

  4. Click OK.
