ApsaraDB RDS:Reset the permissions of a privileged account

Last Updated:Mar 28, 2026

If the permissions of a privileged account are revoked — for example, by executing a REVOKE statement — you can restore them and set a new password through the ApsaraDB RDS console.

Warning

The privileged account is your management account and is recorded and used by the control system. Only reset its password through the RDS console. Resetting it in an unauthorized interface or environment is not allowed.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • An ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instance

  • Access to the RDS console

Reset account permissions

  1. Go to the Instances page. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your RDS instance resides. Find the instance and click its ID.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Accounts.

  3. Find the privileged account and click Reset Account Permissions in the Actions column.
