Managed Service for Prometheus collects only a specific set of basic metrics free of charge. If a metric does not appear on the basic metrics list, it is not collected by default. This is the most common reason Kubelet and API server panels on a custom Grafana dashboard show no data.
Managed Service for Prometheus classifies ingested metrics into two types: basic metrics and custom metrics. Basic metrics are free. Custom metrics incur metric ingestion fees based on write volume or reporting volume. For details, see Billing overview.
