Managed Service for Prometheus manages monitoring instances independently from the Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK) cluster lifecycle. When you delete an ACK cluster, the Prometheus agent is not automatically removed.
Symptoms
The following symptoms occur in the region where the deleted ACK cluster resided:
Several dimmed clusters appear on the Instances page in the Managed Service for Prometheus console.
The deleted cluster's name is unavailable when you create a new ACK cluster.
Solution
Manually uninstall the Prometheus agent for the deleted cluster:
Log on to the Managed Service for Prometheus console.
In the top navigation bar, select the region where the ACK cluster was deployed.
On the Instances page, find the dimmed ACK cluster and click Uninstall in the Actions column.
In the Tips message, click OK.
After the uninstall completes, the dimmed cluster entry is removed and the cluster name becomes available for reuse.
