Syntax

RENAME TABLE
    tbl_name TO new_tbl_name
    [, tbl_name2 TO new_tbl_name2] ...

Usage notes

• Tables with global secondary indexes cannot be renamed. This restriction preserves system performance and stability.

• Index tables cannot be renamed with RENAME TABLE. To rename an index, use ALTER TABLE instead:

  ALTER TABLE table_name RENAME INDEX old_index_name TO new_index_name;
