Alibaba Cloud will not be adding any new features to RDS Enterprise Edition for ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL. You can migrate your existing instances to PolarDB-X to take advantage of the latest features.
You can continue using RDS Enterprise Edition for ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instances as normal, with long-term technical support and bug fixes provided by Alibaba Cloud.

We recommend that customers using ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL RDS Enterprise Edition migrate to PolarDB-X 2.0 Standard Edition to benefit from the latest feature updates.
Introduction to PolarDB-X 2.0 Standard Edition
PolarDB-X 2.0 Standard Edition is fully compatible with all features of RDS Enterprise Edition for ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL. It provides financial-grade disaster recovery to ensure zero data loss (RPO=0) in case of data center failures, and delivers higher performance and cost-effectiveness than native MySQL. Migration steps
You can easily migrate your RDS Enterprise Edition instances to PolarDB-X 2.0 Standard Edition. After the migration, the endpoint of the RDS instance is retained, which lets you switch over your workloads from the RDS instance to the PolarDB-X 2.0 Standard Edition instance without the need to modify the connection settings of your application.
