Migrate an instance of the classic network and VPC hybrid type
Migrate a PolarDB-X 1.0 (formerly called DRDS) instance of the classic network and VPC hybrid type to a destination zone and switch all node network types from classic network to Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).
Before you begin
Complete the following steps in order before starting the migration:
Switch the network type of the ApsaraDB RDS instance attached to your PolarDB-X 1.0 instance from classic network to VPC. See Change the network type.
Fix database shard connections after the network switch. See Fix database shard connections.
Constraints and risks
Review the following before starting the migration:
| Constraint | Details |
|---|---|
| Version requirement | If your PolarDB-X 1.0 instance is earlier than version 5.2.8, it is automatically upgraded to the latest version of 5.2.8 during migration. |
| Transient connection | Migration causes a transient connection interruption that may last a few minutes. Make sure your application has a reconnection mechanism before starting. |
| DDL and DCL restrictions | You cannot run DDL (Data Definition Language) or DCL (Data Control Language) statements on databases during migration. |
Migrate nodes to VPC

In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.
Find the instance and click the instance ID to go to the Basic Information page.
In the Common Actions section, click Migrate Nodes to VPC.
