Error codes and condition names for PolarDB for PostgreSQL - PolarDB

PolarDB for PostgreSQL assigns a five-character SQLSTATE error code to every error message, following the SQL standard conventions. Error codes are stable across versions — the error text may change, but the code does not. To handle errors programmatically, check the error code rather than the message text.

Error code format

The first two characters of an error code identify the error class; the last three identify the specific condition within that class. If your application cannot match a specific error code, it can still branch on the class by inspecting the first two characters.

Each error class includes a generic code whose last three characters are 000. This code represents the class as a whole, without indicating a specific condition.

The Condition name column lists the condition names you can use in PL/pgSQL stored procedures. Condition names are not case-sensitive. Stored procedures cannot handle condition names from warning classes (00, 01, and 02).
