The cluster recycle bin stores released PolarDB clusters. This topic describes the principles, retention periods, and billing for the cluster recycle bin of PolarDB.
Introduction
For PolarDB clusters with long-term backup retention, after you manually , the cluster moves to the recycle bin. Its level-1 backups automatically convert to level-2 backups and incur charges.
After a cluster enters the cluster recycle bin, you can restore or delete the cluster. For more information, see or .

Backup sets in the recycle bin incur charges. Delete them at any time to reduce costs.

If your Alibaba Cloud account has an overdue payment after the backup sets are moved to the recycle bin, the backup sets are deleted.
Retention periods
After a cluster enters the cluster recycle bin, its backup files can be retained for a maximum period of 7,300 days.
Pricing
After a cluster is released, all its level-1 backup files in the cluster recycle bin are asynchronously archived to level-2 backup files at a rate of approximately 150 MB/s.
Level-1 backup files in the cluster recycle bin are free of charge while level-2 backup files are charged at the prices shown in the following table.
