This topic describes the columns in the pg_group view.
Overview
The pg_group view is used for backward compatibility. It emulates a catalog that existed in PostgreSQL before version 8.1. It displays the names and members of all roles that are not marked as rolcanlogin, which is an approximation to the collection of roles that are used as groups.
The pg_group view contains the following columns:
Column name | Type | Description |
groname | name | The name of the group. |
grosysid | oid | The ID of the group. |
grolist | oid[] | An array that contains the IDs of the roles in this group. |
