This topic describes how to enable or disable the Orca feature in a PolarDB for MySQL cluster.
Enable Orca
Before you enable Orca in a PolarDB for MySQL cluster, make sure that the cluster is not running data migration tasks.
Enable Orca when you purchase a cluster
Go to the PolarDB cluster buy page.
Set the Billing Method parameter to Subscription or Pay-as-you-go.
Select a region.
Select a creation method.
Set the Database Engine parameter to MySQL 8.0.2.
Specify whether to enable Orca.
Enable Orca after you purchase a cluster
To enable Orca for a cluster that you have purchased, perform the following steps:
Log on to the PolarDB console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Clusters. In the upper-left corner, select the region of the cluster. In the cluster list, find the cluster and click its ID to go to the Basic Information page.
On the Basic Information page of the cluster, find the ORCA parameter and click Enable.
Disable Orca
Before you disable Orca, make sure that your application is not using an endpoint of Orca.
After you disable Orca, you cannot access Orca data, but the existing Orca data is retained.
On the Basic Information page of the cluster, find the ORCA parameter and click Disable.
Log on to the PolarDB console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Clusters. In the upper-left corner, select the region of the cluster. In the cluster list, find the cluster and click its ID to go to the Basic Information page.
