This topic explains how to enable and disable Orca for a PolarDB for MySQL cluster.
Enable Orca
If a data migration task is running on the cluster, wait for the task to complete before you enable Orca.
Enable during purchase
Go to the PolarDB cluster buy page.
Set Billing Method to Subscription or pay-as-you-go.
Select a Region.
Select a Creation Method.
Set Database Engine to MySQL 8.0.2 or MySQL 8.0.1.
Select the Enable Orca checkbox.
Enable after purchase
Log on to the PolarDB console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Clusters. Select the appropriate Region and then click the cluster ID.
On the Basic Information page, find the ORCA feature and click Enable.
Disable Orca
Before you disable Orca, make sure that your applications do not use an Orca endpoint.
After you disable Orca, you can no longer access its data, but the data is retained.
Log on to the PolarDB console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Clusters. Select the appropriate Region and then click the cluster ID.
On the Basic Information page, find the ORCA feature and click Disable.
